Building Maneki Ramen
We’ve been building again! This time over in Worcester to give Mankei Ramen a brand new restaurant space in Arch 44.
Maneki Ramen started as a pop-up restaurant in September 2020 (then called Lucky Cat Noodle) and from day one the food and concept proved incredibly popular.
Soon after it was the November lockdown and we couldn’t be open to the public as planned and had to rely on a takeaway and delivery service to get things off the ground, but December soon rolled around and we could once again welcome people into the pop-up space in Arch 45.
Things were going well then lockdown came back in January 2021 and we were forced to once again adopt the takeaway delivery model. In April we opened our new outside space and used this to serve Burger Shop and Maneki Ramen.
Serving outside was going well and we took the first steps to building a permanent restaurant for Maneki Ramen and began a crowdfunding project to raise funds to start the building works.
Rewards included tasting menus, vouchers, and merchandise. The project got underway to a great start, however, things were soon derailed.
We received a letter from a well-known celebrity chef’s solicitors about our name and were forced to change it due to a trademark issue, it was then that Maneki Ramen was born.
This also meant we had to cancel our crowdfunding project, but we powered ahead with the build and got to work building a restaurant.
With Director Dorian heading the build and being project manager things have come along very quickly. The new space will have slick Japanese styling and a fully kitted out kitchen for head chef Pete to serve customers right at the pass with his tasting menu.
The next steps are to fully complete the build and host some soft launch nights to see how the restaurant works and refine the service, we will then be open to the public on the 21st July 2021.
We hope to see you soon!
The new Maneki Ramen will be open on the 21st July 2021 we are taking bookings right now, please book soon as we are expecting to be very busy in the first few weeks!
